afro hair also known as textured hair or kinky hair is the main type of hair possessed by most black people all over the world.
It is categorized into 3 main types (commonly ) and these are type 2 which is the wavy kind, type 3 which is curly, and they 4 which is coily . Now as easy as it is to differentiate between the various types of afros it is in fact very difficult to maintain and look after one. why ?you might ask but the answer is quite simple, there aren't enough resources that help teach and educate black folk how to take care of their hair or even any hair dressers how to look after textured hair all because it has been dimmed shabby and unclean in the past forcing many to relax their curls and ruin their waves with heat combs trying to fit in the eurocentric beauty standards .
But after embarking on a journey of growing out my hair as a black man ,I have made a couple of research and am sharing with yall some of the many ways you could look after your textured hair and keep it healthy and luxe.....
(dont forget to subscribe to our newsletter for amazing lifestyle content )
1. use shampoo that is good for textured hair to help keep it clean and rich, I did find one here bestie
2. use a hair mask every when you have some time on your hands for self care. a simple recipe for afro hair mask is mixing aloevera gel, honey and avocado and applying it to your roots every once in a while
3. use protective hairstyles , now this is by far my favorite because not only will these hairstyles keep your hair intact and prevent it from shrinkage but they are also boom ass cute on black people (sadly many of these hairstyles like dreadlocks have been villanised by many people in Africa 💀 but that's a story for later , colonialism is to blame)
5. never comb wet hair it makes it break easily
6. use protective gear like bonnets and durags even wigs to shield your natural hair from harsh conditions .
7. use conditioner and moisturizer that are good for afros (try this black owned business for their products on hair )
8 . eat healthy (check out this blog post on rich foods you can eat to have healthy roots )
well that's it for now if you have any that you feel I left out feel free to add them, follow up with me on pinterest and don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channelfor more lifestyle content thank you guys very much stay safe, spread love and follow your dreams.

the term skincare routine scares alot of people to be honest, sounds like a really long process, and with people having night skin care routines, fall skin care routines and so on it does seem stressful, I however found a few shortcuts that am willing to share with yall about affordable yet effective skincare
.
As most of you know my brother and I launched a natural, organic, handmade skincare line last year (if you didn't now you do make sure to subscribe to this blogs newsletter so you don't miss out on anything ).
and the main reason of formulating the products was to make affordable products that work for most skin tones and by thinking of this we had to look for the one super ingredient to incorporate into our soap bars and after a while of research, we settled upon shea butter,
For those who ain't well versed wish shea butter it is a product of shea plants and is very good for both skin and hair and below are some of the reasons as to why you should add shea butter products to your skincare...
(you can purchase martson skincare here now )
1. IT MOISTURIZES THE SKIN OR HAIR.
2. it is a natural hair conditioner
3. it is very rich in vitamins A,E and F that are very much needed for nice hair and smooth skin
4. it relives joint pains (mind ones to be exact )
5. it relives sunburns, going out into the sun without a sunscreen is risky business for some skin tones (though its highly recommended that we all apply sunscreen while out in the sun) shea butter products can help reduce the pain of a sunburn
6. it restores the skins elasticity
7. faded dark Mark's on the skin (especially our raven bar ).
8. softens and smooths the skin ....
9. clams irritated skin
with the above pros of shea butter I strongly believe that adding shea butter products to your skincare will reduce on the products you buy because the shea butter does most of the work,
martson skincare specializes in handmade soap with the venus bar made from organic shea butter and olive oil plus the raven bar made from shea butter, olive oil and activated charcoal. all proven to be good for the skin and hair.

Am going to be really honest I didn't even know any of these people were making these amazing yet affordable perfumes, clearly there ain't enough space in the perfume world for new creators to grow let alone black creatives but well we did do some digging and unearthed a few brands be kind to add any in the comments...
1. Hive luxury fragrances
not only is the brand woman owned (which makes it 100 more times cooler because black women are winning, all women are winning ) but it does have provisions for small ,travel size perfumes, the prices are good too.
in second place, is B FRAGRANCED,
the brand has a ton of good reviews online from verified customers (take note of that when purchasing online) the prices are great and the scents are emaculate.
3. Now I know the men are out here like what about us ( even though all the above brands have unisex fragrances ) this one was somehow made toto fit a certain taste.....ladies,gentlemen and those yet to decide its ovation for men
be sure to follow me on Instagram for in depth reviews and my youTube
4. savoir faire is the next one on the list,
one thing I loved most about this brand is that it also offers merch and other amazing products
so for the last brand I came across , I did check and see that it was also one of the only few black owned brands that was celebrated in the perfume world, that is mair fragrances
they have a high range of products and the prices are also great.

5 facts we have put together about body waxing that you should know before doing it.....
shaving has always been a big step in hygiene with some people doing it as regularly as daily just so they can keep their skin smooth and very much not hairy I guess, but we are quite familiar with the cons of shaving the bumps, the time wastage (because its needed regularly ) and so on....but thanks to science...we have body waxing.
NOW ....we have seen lots of celebrities do this, and we did make a little research and this is what we dug up...
1.
their are many different types of waxing including cold ,hot ,soft and hard so please speak to your specialist to find out which type of waxing you will be using and if it's fine for your skin.
2. dont exfoliate before doing the body wax because it will cause an irritating effect. so all you have to do is clean your self and dry before the procedure.
3. ask for a skin numbing spray because waxing can be kind of painful since the hair is removed straight from the follicles.
waxing will be more painful if you do it during that sensitive period of the month for the ladies....
BONUS TIPS: waxing can be done on any part of the body ...

we collected some info that we believe is necessary before you decide to get your eyebrows worked up
(dont forget to subscribe to our news letter for amazing lifestyle content )
The eyebrows have undergone a tremendous change over the years, from having very thin ones to now embracing the thick ones we all see women and makeup artists go by of late..... this has led to various trends including the famous micro blading. For those of us that don't know what micro blading is ,its a procedure that involves making hundreds of strokes on the skin to help build a texture that looks ones natural eyebrow. This means someone with very little or even no eyebrows (it is actually funny but yes some people don't have eyebrows lmao) . This procedure helps you get fuller eyebrows and helps you look like you always have a full on makeup look without actually having to wear any make up, but ofcourse everything has pros and cons and since you have questions I had to look for questions. firstly the procedure lasts a year so let's get into the pros,
firstly it's time saving, since you don't have to always draw on your eyebrows, this actually makes getting ready every day easier.
secondly, it painless, yes I do realize I used the term procedure but that's because it needs a bit of care and that actually clocks us into our first con, you need to keep the area clean for the first 2 weeks after you have gotten your eyebrows micro bladded.
secondly, some people may be allergic to the procedure so please check with your dermatologist before you get it done...
