As global econmies continue to grow... monetization of various activities that were once just regarded as hobbies has taken centre.
Many of us today have thought of or actually monetized a hobby we once done only for fun and relaxation. This doesn't only help you to cash in while doing what you love but also makes it easier as it's not really seen as "work". I have personally taken my passion for writing and visual story telling into becoming a lifestyle blogger and content creator something that has helped me secure a college admissions and also diversified my earnings.... but how are others doing it?
Today I did have a sit down with a one Mr Ricky Rwanjwogyera alias uptown prince whom was known for his love of music ,poetry in his earlier days in school and later got into film making that he has mastered as he continues below......
You see, I had a passion for film, and I considered dropping out of school to pursue it. However, fate had a different plan. I discovered that Makerere University offered a prestigious bachelor's program in film, setting me on a path that merged my artistic talents with the world of filmmaking.
Fast forward to the COVID-19 era, and an unexpected twist propelled me further into this exciting journey. Friends approached me with an unusual request – they needed fake money for a film shoot. Intrigued, I not only assisted them but also became part of the project. Little did I know, this experience would become a pivotal moment in my evolution.
Our skit, which I contributed to and acted in, garnered attention on platforms like TikTok, amassing followers and views. The catch? I didn't own an iPhone, which I had learned was the key to creating top-notch content. Undeterred, I patiently waited for my friends' schedules to align so we could shoot. In the meantime, I honed my storytelling skills, meticulously crafting scripts, and envisioning hilarious scenarios.
But there's more to this journey than meets the eye. Budget management, creative brainstorming, and the pursuit of perfection played a pivotal role in my transition from social media skits to filmmaking. Each step was a learning experience, fueling my passion and determination to create compelling films.
As I ventured deeper into this world, I found myself irresistibly drawn to the magic of filmmaking. My story is a testament to the boundless possibilities that emerge when you follow your artistic instincts, adapt to the tools at hand, and embrace the unexpected twists that life throws your way.
