We all have a dream lifestyle and thanks to capitalism we have to work ( that is if you weren't born into wealthy or royalty or both 😂).
Its no secret that a good number of people want to change their jobs, some want promotions others just entering the work force.
The key to your dream job is first of all its availability but also most importantly your compatibility with the role you seek to fill.
If that brand you have dreamed of always working at has open positions but you ain't ready then you going to miss out on your dream lifestyle....
As someone that recently moved and got into work in a completely different environment here are a few tips on how you could be ready for that job...( be sure to share with a friend)
1. Update your resume.
I am not kidding if anything for everyone specific set of roles your resume should look a certain different way and possess certain qualities.... make sure you are up to date with any must have qualities before you submit.
2. Just Apply,
Yes many times the roles we admire seem as though they are far from our reach, if a job requires 3 years of experience but you have 2 apply. What is the worst that can happen? Or... hear me out what is the best that can happen?
So if you want it and believe you can do it and its for you... apply.
3. Always add a cover letter. With the evolution of hiring process many brands have dropped or made cover letters optional and because of this many people apply without them therefore adding one to your resume sets your application aside..
4. Add recommendations
Yes grab your favorite teachers, former fellow employees , employers every one and add them on there.
5. Be ware of frauds...
Yes people are taking advantage of those seeking employment by advertising fake jobs online .... I spoke about it more here
6. Don't be shy to bargain for a higher pay during negotiations if you feel you are worth that much..
7. What is yours will always come to you.... 1,2 ,3 denials don't mean you are incompetent... they just weren't for you and its fine...
