7 UNBEATABLE WAYS TO TAKE CARE OF AFRO HAIR

afro hair also known as textured hair or kinky hair is the main type of hair possessed by most black people all over the world. It is categorized into 3 main types (commonly ) and these are type 2 which is the wavy kind, type 3 which is curly, and they 4 which is coily . Now as easy as it is to differentiate between the various types of afros it is in fact very difficult to maintain and look after one. why ?you might ask but the answer is quite simple, there aren't enough resources that help teach and educate black folk how to take care of their hair or even any hair dressers how to look after textured hair all because it has been dimmed shabby and unclean in the past forcing many to relax their curls and ruin their waves with heat combs trying to fit in the eurocentric beauty standards .
But after embarking on a journey of growing out my hair as a black man ,I have made a couple of research and am sharing with yall some of the many ways you could look after your textured hair and keep it healthy and luxe..... (dont forget to subscribe to our newsletter for amazing lifestyle content ) 1. use shampoo that is good for textured hair to help keep it clean and rich, I did find one here bestie 2. use a hair mask every when you have some time on your hands for self care. a simple recipe for afro hair mask is mixing aloevera gel, honey and avocado and applying it to your roots every once in a while
3. use protective hairstyles , now this is by far my favorite because not only will these hairstyles keep your hair intact and prevent it from shrinkage but they are also boom ass cute on black people (sadly many of these hairstyles like dreadlocks have been villanised by many people in Africa 💀 but that's a story for later , colonialism is to blame) 5. never comb wet hair it makes it break easily 6. use protective gear like bonnets and durags even wigs to shield your natural hair from harsh conditions . 7. use conditioner and moisturizer that are good for afros (try this black owned business for their products on hair ) 8 . eat healthy (check out this blog post on rich foods you can eat to have healthy roots ) well that's it for now if you have any that you feel I left out feel free to add them, follow up with me on pinterest and don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channelfor more lifestyle content thank you guys very much stay safe, spread love and follow your dreams.
